Someone who rents for 30 years at 1500 a month will have spent 540.000 dollars with nothing to show for it. A person buys a house in 30 years it probably paid for so no monthly payment , have property taxes and insurance but a lot cheaper then 1500 rent. Also house is probably worth a lot more then want he bought it for. Just common sense and logic owning a home is a lot better especially for someone getting near retirement.

I’ve been investing into the vanguard ETFs and several Single stocks- including Nvidia. Since 2019. That’s ok . I’m 67yrs Old. I make really good money driving a truck. I would love to have a brand new corvette, have always wanted one. I could go pay cash for one right now. I could put a down payment on a nice house as well. I “could” be having a really nice life right now. Instead, I live in my truck, no days off for the last two years and don’t even have a car. I’m 100k into NVIDIA $1500 a week going forward because I believe this company will take me where I want to be financially in the next 5-10 years. I spent a lot of my life wasting time but now I sacrifice. I sacrifice everything. If I lose then I lost nothing. I’ll still be stuck in this truck instead of being retired. Sometimes you have to risk it all to gain everything.
